Wedding: March 2017 Back in March last year I photographed Amy & Ed's wedding at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel. I first met Amy & Ed back in 2016 when they were guests at another wedding I photographed, they had already booked me for their day and when they told me about their plans for the day I knew that this was going to be a good one! Amy got ready with her mum, bridesmaids and flower girl at the hotel. I arrived in the morning to capture the preparations and of course detail shots of the dress, shoes and other accessories. They all made me feel so welcome and it was a lovely part of the day to photograph! After hair and make up was done it was time for Amy to put on her dress. Up until that point she had been really calm and we had even had a conversation about how she's not a very emotional person... well this wasn't the case on her wedding day! As her bridesmaid Sam zipped up Amy's dress and put on her jewellery, tears started in Amy's eyes, which then set Sam off, with the rest of the ladies in the room soon in tears too! There is just something about that moment you put on your wedding dress! I see tears and nerves all the time at that stage. Anyway, Amy looked absolutely beautiful and after her mum had put her veil in, it was time for Amy's dad to see her for the first time - I love photographing this moment! They shared a rum and coke together before making their way to the ceremony room. The ceremony was lovely - this couple literally melt my heart with how cute they are together. The way they looked at each other in the ceremony and throughout the day! Ohh it just really made me remember why I love my job and why I do this job - I get to capture love and it's amazing! After the ceremony it was downstairs for drinks and group photos. One of the best moments had to be when Amy's veil blew up and into her dads face during the all guests photo! So funny and so glad I caught it on camera! It was then time for couple photos, and with them being one of the cutest couples ever, they made my job soooo easy when it came to this part of the day! We had done a pre-wedding shoot a few weeks before, so that helped get rid of any nerves in front of the camera, but these two were just pros really! They did super cute poses without me even having to give much direction! The grounds at the venue where full of spring colour, daffodils and blossom trees. It was then time for me to photograph the reception room set up and all the little details - a part of the day I was really looking forward after hearing all about what they had planned. Amy & Ed have a love of travel and have been to lots of different places all over the world, Amy also works at a travel agent, so their day could only have one theme really! Travel! It worked so well and they had thought of so many little details! The table plan was a map of the world, with the table names all being places they had visited together. Each table had a 'postcard' with pictures from that particular country they had visited. The tables were decorated with globes and plane shaped confetti. The guest book was a framed print of a map of the world and the cake was of course travel themed too! They had speeches before the meal, and during Ed's speech all the guests had a shot of rum from Cuba that they had brought back especially! After the meal we went for a few more couple photos, before evening guests arrived and it was time for the party to start! They had a plane piñata full of sweets that kept the kids happy (and big kids too... Amy's brother got the winning hit I think!) I was really pleased to get some night portraits done too, something that's a little bit trickier now the evenings are lighter. But we still managed to get some lovely shots. After they cut the cake they took to the dance floor for their first dance. It was then time for a surprise for Amy & the guests as Amy's brother put a chair in the middle of the dancefloor for her to sit on and he did a dance to Usher wearing an Usher mask. Everyone loved it and it got everyone in the party mood! I left Amy, Ed and the guests dancing the night away!

"We booked Amy to photograph our day after a recommendation from a friend. The package offered was excellent value for money. Amy was brilliant from start to finish and listened to what we wanted from our photos. Throughout the day Amy snapped away catching all of the key moments without being intrusive. The online gallery to view them is fab too. The presentation box with the Polaroid images was a lovely surprise. We absolutely love our photos and would 100% recommend Amy."Amy & Edwin
