Wedding: February 2017
Wow, it has been a year already since Deanna & Michael got married at Twycross Zoo back in February 2017. Here's their day... Deanna, her two bridesmaids and mum got ready in a holiday cottage they hired for the weekend. 'The stables' one of the houses at Donative Holiday Cottages had gorgeous views and was just a short drive away from the zoo. When I first arrived on the morning of the wedding, Deanna and her mum were Skype calling Thailand to speak to her brother who was living over there and couldn't make it back for the day. This was such a lovely moment to document! I then got to photograph Deanna's gorgeous dress, Irregular Choice shoes and other accessories. I particularly loved the cute little elephants on the dress hanger, Deanna had also made one for each of the bridesmaids, flower girl and her mum too. The girls had their hair and make up done by SC Makeup Artist & Sacha Cosmetics Studio & Academy and all looked beautiful! Although I think the flower girl would probably win for looking the cutest in her dress! With the help from her mum Deanna got into her dress and looked absolutely amazing! It was then time to head to the zoo! The ceremony took place in Twycross Zoo's gorgeous ceremony room called 'window to the wild' Deanna & Michael smiled the whole way through their ceremony and the whole day in fact (which as a result made me smile while going back through these photos to blog!) After being officially announced as Mr & Mrs they walked through a confetti tunnel and then guests all headed to the 'gibbon forest' for welcome drinks with a few extra guests, the monkeys! We then took some group photos and the all guests shot got photobombed by the zoo monkey mascot! While the guests had some free time to explore the zoo; myself, Deanna and Michael explored some parts of the zoo ourselves. We visited my favourites the giraffes and the couples favourite the elephants. None of the animals wanted to have their photos taken and didn't pose unfortunately. Deanna & Michael opted to have a pre-wedding shoot before their day and this really helped when it came to couple photos. Without me even telling them they were 'posing' perfectly every time! Michael even said how at ease he felt because of doing the shoot before hand and it got rid of any nerves in front the camera. The window to the wild room was now turned into their wedding breakfast room. The centrepieces were zoo scenes and each table named after that animal - I think my favourite one was the penguins! Deanna & Michael made most of the decorations for the day including some awesome light up jars. Each jar had a silhouette of an animal and with colourful lights these looked fantastic for the evening reception! Michael is also known as 'Woody' and so they had to have a little reference to Toy Story somewhere! They picked an incredible baker for their cake. The very talented For goodness cake - Rugby did a wonderful job! Loved the wedding elephants! Of course we found time for some night portraits (my favourite thing about winter weddings!) and I was so excited when Deanna & Michael told me how much they wanted to do these. So after the meal and speeches, we headed outside and got the most amazing photos - it was freezing too but the couple didn't let it bother them at all. The new Mr & Mrs then took to the dance floor for their first dance before being joined by guests. I left them all dancing away and I like to think the zoo animals were having a boogie too! Congratulations to Deanna & Michael! It was really lovely getting to know this couple and I loved photographing their day at the zoo!
"Fantastic, we booked Amy for our wedding and she did a fantastic job. You pay for the eye to detail and the experience, she found photo opportunities that otherwise would have been missed. She took control for the group photos and helped organise people and also was discreet at the right times. This combination makes amazing photos.
I would recommend booking the pre shoot to get rid of any nerves you may have."
