Wedding: May 2017
Josie and Matthew got married back in May last year, it was a fabulous day and I'm so pleased to share their day on the blog! The day started at Catthorpe Manor Estate, where Josie got ready with her two bridesmaids. Her dress looked stunning hung up in the window and the beautiful flowers were by Stemsations. The gorgeous campervan then arrived to take the girls and Josie's dad to the church.
The ceremony took place at St Mary's church in Barby. After their lovely ceremony, we headed off for couple photos with the campervan. A special thank you Denise & Mark at The Old Camper Company for driving out to a great location for photos! And the weather turned out to be beautiful too after what had been a cloudy morning. It was then back to Barby, just next door of the church to Barby village hall for the reception. The room looked amazing with lots of bunting, jars with flowers in and pretty lavender details. The cake looked fantastic too, created by Cakes Fabulous Cakes. The flowers from Stemsations where the perfect finishing touch. Also not forgetting the huge light up LOVE letters that sounded like they were a bit of a labour of love made by Matt & his best man, but worth it as they looked great in the evening photos! Josie, Matt and their guests had South African street food, from curry to burgers, the guests seemed very happy. After food it was time for speeches, but the star of the show had to be their son Oscar for his speech - they quite literally couldn't get him away from the mic! It was then time for dessert, so time to cut the cake! The sunset was gorgeous so of course I grabbed Josie & Matt for a few magic light photos. Before heading inside for the first dance! I see it a lot at weddings - After a first dance the dance floor often empties out, sometimes it's just too early for people to bring out their best moves or they just haven't had enough to drink!... not this wedding, the dance floor was never once empty and we even had a conga line going before 8pm - Josie & Matt's family certainly know how to party that's for sure. Matt is in a band called White Men Can't Funk. They have played at other weddings I've photographed, and so when Matt said they would be playing a small set at the wedding, I of course knew I wanted to stay around to capture that. I had a wonderful day photographing this wedding! Happy 'nearly' first anniversary Josie & Matt!
"Amy was such a fantastic photographer, completely made us
feel comfortable in front of the camera and most importantly
that we could be be ourselves and that always shows through
the end result, highly recommended!" Josie & Matthew
