Wedding: July 2018
I have known Robyn and James for years! I went to school with Robyn and worked with James at my old 'weekend job' back in my college days. So when they got in touch to book me for their day, it's safe to say I was very excited! They had their wedding at Draycote Hotel - a lovely venue just down the road from me.
The morning started at the hotel, where Robyn got ready with her bridesmaids and flower girls. The morning was full of emotions - from tears to laughter. One of the most beautiful moments I have ever photographed was when Robyn's dad surprised her and her sister with a very special gift. There wasn't a dry eye in the room... me included!
The ceremony was very much the same - lots of smiles, laughter and happy tears. I love witnessing couples get married anyway, but there was something so special about witnessing friends tie the knot and having the honour of documenting it!
After the ceremony, we hopped straight onto the golf buggies provided by the hotel. One thing I love about this venue is the huge choice of gorgeous locations for couple portraits.
Remember the summer of '18 where the sun was actually shining and England were actually good in football world cup?! Well, not only did their wedding take place on one of the hottest days of the year, but it was also the day of the England V Sweden quarter final! I think a lot of the guests were pleased to see TV screens in the bar area showing the match! It was kind of make or break as to how the rest of the day may go... England made it to the semi-finals during the meal and there was a huge roar from the room as they won!
What a party their evening reception was! I love staying after the first dance to document the dancing anyway, but this dancefloor was WILD and so fun to photograph! The evening was topped off by an incredible firework display. The perfect end to a perfect day!
I'm so pleased to finally be sharing their day on the blog.
