Dodmoor House Wedding
Hannah and Jason got married in October. Autumn is my favourite season, so I do love an autumn wedding. They picked the amazing Dodmoor House wedding venue in Northamptonshire, which is always a joy to work at! My morning started with Hannah at her parent's house, where she got ready with her bridesmaids. As always, I started by photographing all the little details. The flowers from Julia Anna Flowers were stunning and I really loved how autumnal they were. Hannah's pretty lace dress was from Sammie Lou Bridal.
Hannah and Jason added a second photographer to their package, so the very lovely Sophie Evans joined Jason and his best man at home to document his wedding morning! There are lots of advantages to adding a second photographer to your wedding package, the first being you get both of your wedding mornings documented! They both made their way to Dodmoor House in some very special cars! Jason drove his grandad's old car and Hannah arrived in a car that belonged to her grandma - such a lovely touch and great for photos! A question I often get asked: what happens if it rains on our wedding day? No matter how much planning has gone into your day, the one thing you just cannot plan for is the weather! Sadly it rained for most of the day, but Hannah & Jason definitely didn't let it spoil their day. They embraced the weather and weren't afraid to go outside in the light showers for some couple portraits. I bring clear umbrellas with me to every wedding, just in case, and for this wedding, they were very useful! For the group photos, the rain was coming down heavier at this point, luckily the balcony in the Catesby Barn was the perfect indoor setting for group photos. The whole day had lots of DIY and creative elements. Hannah and Jason made lots of the wedding decor. Jason's sister also made the amazing wedding cake! It was so lovely to document all the little personalised creative touches. The Catesby Barn looked gorgeous set up for the wedding breakfast. There were little Harry Potter touches to the day - the tables were named after famous Harry Potter locations, the top table being Hogwarts of course! After dinner and the speeches, Hannah's sister performed in the Courtyard Barn and evening guests arrived. The rain had finally stopped, so we took the opportunity to get some creative couple portraits using the pretty fairy lights in the courtyard at Dodmoor. Hannah & Jason then walked through a sparkler tunnel before making their way onto the dancefloor for their first dance. I loved this dancefloor! The guests filled the dancefloor from the start and danced the night away to music by the live band Taylormade. They were so good I didn't want to leave! I also couldn't leave without getting one last creative nighttime couple portrait of course! Huge thank you to Sophie Evans Photography for being an amazing second shooter on the day! And thank you to Hannah and Jason for having us be a part of your lovely day!
